How do I spot a knockoff Rolex?

I have been offered a Rolex but I want to know if it's real. Short of bringing it to a jeweler, what can I look for?|||Best answer on here is correct.

Also, any good luxury watch owner should have supporting paperwork for purchasing, servicing etc, and the box. If it hasn't got any of these don't buy it. Remember the old saying "if it looks to good to be true it probably is".|||It is my understanding that the second hand on a Rolex does not "click" from one second to the next. Instead, it moves wtih a smooth motion.
