How do i figure out if my Rolex is real?

I got a Rolex watch about 3 years ago as a gift. I didnt recive any papers and i was wondering if i took it to a certified dealer if they could tell me its real or not. Im pretty sure it is real but i just want to know.|||Take it to a jeweler!|||Bring it to a dealer, or to save the embarrasing fake (as there are more of them than real Rolexs), check for a serial number on the case at the 6 o'clock position under the band.

|||does the second hand tick the seconds or does it sweep around the face? if it ticks, supposedly that means it's fake.

jeweler is your best bet.|||Give it to an evolutionist or an atheist, they will analyze it and let you know if it is real and if it really exists. They can even tell you how it was made and if it evolved. ha ha. Its a joke! come on atheists have some fun! Its the only life you have!|||the difference between a rolex and a fake rolex is in the movement of the second hand. I don't recall which is which, but i think that a rolex as a steady moving second hand, where as the knock off's have a second hand that ticks... but, again, i'm not sure which is which.|||If it takes a battery, it is absolutely FAKE. No Rolex requires batteries.|||l do not know if you have done any research, though l am researching this for myself as l write, for l have purchased one as well.

The date magnification should be 2 and half times larger then the real number, the second hand should tick 5 to 6 times per second, there is a rubber seal inside the crown when you pull it out as well as the second hand should stop. When you push the crown back into place it should screw in. Depending on the year of the watch and the style, it could have a green hologram on the back with a crown, black numbers, and maybe letters, l can not remember. The band should have screws in it rather than pins, as well under the six inside the watch, there should be a small crown hardly visible to the naked eye, though this is not on all rolexes. lt should be quite heavy, and apparently the most reliable difference is under the lugs, behind the pins is what l mean, so you will have to remove them, anyways, there will be a serial number on one end, as well as a reference number on the other end. And yes if you took it to a certified dealer they could identify if it is a fake. l hope that it is real, have a lovely day, Loki|||Any jeweler can tell you in two seconds|||This is what I've heard and I don't know if it's true because I don't own either a real or a fake Rolex. But supposedly the second hand on a real Rolex has a smooth movement but the second hand in a fake will have the typical tick tick tick type movement.

Hope I'm right, in case i ever get a Rolex...

Peace|||you can take it to any watch dealer in the mall or a certified dealer. but if you didn't get any papers its probably fake i had a fake one that look so real to me but it wasn't some people say that if the minute hand tics instead of continuous moving its fake but my watch didn't tic but it was still fake it is still a nice watch|||Bring it in to a dealer, it'll have a serial number and they will be able to confirm it for You.|||While previous answerers have drawn your attention to the movement (second hand ticks on fakes) and all genuine Rolexes have a serial number engraved on the back of the case, the biggest difference i've found between the real and fake Rolex is the weight. Real Rolexes are very heavy, fake ones are of normal weight.|||If you take it to a jeweler and it's a conterfeit, they will destroy it - copyright infringement.

I'm not sure what this has to do with community service?|||this is what you do take the rolex off you wrist set it on the table. Go get a hammer take the hammer and smash it on the rolex inside you will see a secret message if there isn't a message it isn't a rolex hope this helps
